Confirm the measurement object: It must be a medium suitable for turbine flow meters.
Select structural type:
Select based on fluid properties: Gas and liquid turbine flow meters are used separately for gas and liquid, and cannot be used interchangeably. For liquids with a viscosity exceeding 5mPa · s in working conditions, high viscosity types should be selected (there are currently no mature products in China). For acidic corrosive fluids, acid resistant types (currently no standardized products) should be selected.
Select according to environmental conditions: Choose appropriate instruments based on environmental temperature, humidity, etc. If there is an explosive and flammable atmosphere around, explosion-proof sensors should be selected.
Select by pipeline connection method: The sensor has two installation methods: horizontal and vertical. When installed horizontally, there are flange connections, threaded connections, and clamp connections with the pipeline. Medium caliber pipes are connected using flanges, while small-diameter and high-pressure pipes are connected using threaded connections. Clamping connections are only suitable for low-pressure small and medium-sized pipes. Vertical installation only has threaded connections. Large caliber can use plug-in turbine flow meters.
Select specifications: Based on the on-site usage conditions, such as flow range, pipe diameter, fluid pressure and temperature, installation location, as well as performance requirements, such as accuracy, repeatability, display mode, etc., refer to the manufacturer's selection sample or user manual to select specific specifications and models. Due to the wide variety of types and specifications of turbine flow meters, especially the differences in product quality among different manufacturers, it is necessary to collect information on manufacturers and relevant standards as much as possible for repeated investigation and comparison before making a decision.
